Stands for "The
Outreach Program: It is a
youth soccer league
designed for children
with disabilities. Any
child who cannot play, or
has
difficulty playing in the
"recreational"
programs due to a special
challenge
of any kind is welcome!
...The
TOP Soccer program has
the same basic elements
as standard soccer,
including the spirit of
team sports and physical
activity. The unique
thing about TOP Soccer is
that the program is
modified
to accomodate the special
needs of the individual
player. Teams are grouped
by age and/or ability.
Ages 5 and up are
welcome!
...While we
maintain the basic
fundamentals of the game
of soccer, at TOP Soccer,
we strive to put the
emphasis on developing
positive self-concepts,
teamwork, and having fun
playing the game rather
than perfecting skills
and winning/losing.
